Nathan led off the relay, doing a life time best, breaking the 48 second barrier for the first time, going a 47.89.

Nathan anchors the Gold Medal winning relay, missing the Olympic Record by .01 seconds.

The 2012 Olympics Trials
The 100 Free Final
Nathan won the 100 Free, securing his spot on the team and on two relays.  Between 2008 and 2012, Nathan and Jason Lezak switched lane assignments!

After securing his spot in the 100 Free Final at the 2008 Olympic Trials by winning a swim-off, Nathan went on to place fourth in the final, from lane 8, securing his spot on the Olympic Team.  Watch the race here ------>

The 2008 World Short Course Championships
In November of 2007 at the National Championships in Atlanta, Nathan qualified for his first National Team.  He represented the US at the World Short Course Championships in the United Kingdom which took place in April of 2008.  Nathan swam the 100 and 200 Free and the relays.  Nathan won the 100 Freestyle, which could be considered his breakthrough swim.  See the swim below.
